Paintings from the Saltee Island’s Haven for seabirds in Co. Wexford to the megalithic tombs of the Bricklieve Mountains, the oldest complexes of tombs in Ireland, Fergus Lyons’s 20 oil paintings are a gesture of deep reverence to these places of Sanctuary.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Since the 1980’s, Fergus’s paintings have chronicled & narrated historical milestones and life events, both past & present. Here are a few….

Commissions:-       2020-2021 At present working on a large multi-generational portrait of Lug Lamfhada and his extensive tribe.  Set in the indeterminate dimension that exists between Frankfort and Maynooth.

1997-98 United Nations Commission marking 40 yrs of Irish Army Peacekeeping in Lebanon.5ft x 7ft Oil Painting

1990-1991 “Building Bridges” Six Oil paintings 38x50inch narrating the building of the Bridge over the River Shannon in Athlone, Co. Westmeath

1998-1999 “Turas Connacht” Arts Council collection – 14 paintings of Stations of the Cross in modern day setting in Ireland. Still touring in Ireland

2009 ‘Inagaki Collection Japan’  4ftx7ft commission  “Uisce Solas”

1992- 1993“View from a Rocking Stone” 8ft x 12 ft painting detailing life & surroundings in the area of Lough Allen.

2003 “Bovale Collection” Seven paintings on theme of Irish Myth & Legend by Bovale Building Group.
